First Came Love

True Story.  One of the first products I ever tried from Beautycounter was their Daily Shampoo & Conditioner.  I was so blown away by how well it lathered.  I was so amazed that I made my husband try it, too.  He was also impressed.  We had already been on a journey to finding safer hair care products and we had several other brands in our bathroom at the time.  None of them could do what Beautycounter could.

Then Came Marriage

Okay so I’m not married to my hair care but I am an avid fan and a committed user.  Ever since that Beautycounter Daily Shampoo & Conditioner sample arrived at my door, I’ve been smitten.  Note to sales people reading this: Samples work!  I found myself absolutely taken by the performance of these products.

And Then Came the Smooth & Control Collection

So, when Beautycounter introduced their Smooth & Control Collection I was ready to jump in.  I already loved their Daily Shampoo & Conditioner and I was sure that this collection would be my jam. I have wavy hair and I’ve done lots of bad things to it.  Highlights, ombre, and general neglect are some of my biggest hair sins.  It can get really frizzy and unruly.  I mean crazy hair.  The Daily Shampoo was great when it came to clarifying but it wasn’t the best when it came to dealing with my thick, unmanageable mane.  So, I decided to take my new collection to the hair salon with me.

At the Salon

Ange was really awesome about the fact that I brought my own products which is saying a lot since it was first time there!  I think she was as surprised as I was at the lathering capabilities.  It doesn’t have sulfates, mineral oils or silicones, you know?!  It smells amazing.  And it made my hair look fabulous.  It’s great for thick, coarse, frizzy, damaged and unmanageable hair (like mine) and it’s safe for color treated hair (like mine).  It is scented with essential oil blends and smells really good.  I was super stoked to get the lather and the performance you’d expect from your hair care without all the harsh chemicals.  Win-win!

Safety meets high-performance in these safer hair care products.  A little goes a long way.  Beautycounter has created exclusive PureFoam Cleansing Technology and it lathers like a dream.  In case you didn’t know: sulfates damage and strip the hair.  Our products never use sulfates.  The Smooth & Control Collection uses wild cotton extract to smooth while increasing elasticity.  California blue agave complex hydrates and strengthens.  This collection helps to tame those tresses while giving them a smooth, shiny appearance. 

My Hair Reality

Okay, but you’re probably like, “Yeah, but that was in a salon.  Your hair was in the hands of a pro.  That’s cheating!”  And you make a good point.  I am really terrible when it comes to styling my own hair, but I have been really pleased with the results.  This is my hair a month and a half after my trip to the salon.  I’d say Smooth & Control is still doing a pretty awesome job with my crazy hair.  What do you think?

So, the bottom line is that I’m very happy with the Smooth & Control Collection.  I like to alternate between the Daily Shampoo and Conditioner and the Smooth & Control Collection.  I like to use the Smooth & Control Collection whenever I straighten my hair.  I really think it helps it to get super straight.  I also use it when I’m going to let my hair air dry.  It seems to make my curls look less frizzy.  Get your Smooth & Control Collection today.
